Akane is a multi-racial, multi-lingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has been in the field of social work for over 15 years. She provides a unique, welcoming, non-judgmental, and inclusive space.
She has expertise in HIV/AIDS, gender-based violence, workplace sexual harassment, wage theft, multi-generational issues, and AAPI discrimination. She has worked in Japan and Ecuador and has a passion for intercultural exchange.
She uses a multicultural feminist approach and focuses on empowering survivors. She creates an empathic and informed space to process survivors’ thoughts and feelings around the issues and challenges that are affecting them most.
