The Survivors Know Leadership Program is rooted in critical pedagogy, a philosophy of education and social movement founded by the Brazilian educator Paulo Freire, and expanded into feminist theory by bell hooks. We see survivors as active participants in the learning process, and as experts.
Our leadership series encourages you to question power along many lines: race, class, gender, sexual orientation, age, and socioeconomic status. Our process challenges you to invent and reinvent among other survivors to develop trauma-informed, survivor-led and research-based actionable practices that will lead to long-term structural changes in workplaces.
We are hosting our next leadership cohort Fall of 2020

Leadership Cohort 1
This virtual four part series is focused on these core areas – Awareness, Analysis, Action, Accountable / Allyship. Outside of the group sessions, we facilitate guided thought partnerships by pairing up participants, exchanging ideas and deepening our supportive community.
Leadership Cohort 2
This leadership series is for survivors who participated in the first cohort and builds upon the lessons of the previous series.
In growing our community of practice, we host seminars for survivors, advocates and allies. We’re excited to offer these sessions on a rolling basis.
